HMS Naiad. Built by Hawthorn Leslie and launched 3rd February 1939 and completed 24th July 1940. HMS naiad served in the Home fleet between 1940 till 1941 going to the Mediterranean 1941- 1942, in this time she took part in the action against the French Guepard in 1941. she was sunk by U-565 of Crete 11th March 1942. Specifications for HMS Dido, HMS Euryalus, HMS Naiad, HMS Phoebe, HMS Sirius, HMS Bonaventure, HMS Hermione, HMS Charybdis, HMS Cleopatra, HMS Scylla and HMS Argonaut.
Displacement: 5,450 tons Speed: 33kts Complement: 530 (556 as a Flagship) Armament: Ten 5.25 inch de-perming guns in pairs. Eight 2pdr anti-aircraft guns in fours as well as eight 0.5 inch machine guns in fours. Six 21 inch torpedo tubes in threes.
